Spin-orbit and Coulomb Effects in Layered Ruthenates and Rhodates

内容简介:

    Layered ruthenates and rhodates continue to attract attention decades after their discovery in that new anomalous properties are still discovered and familiar ones present novel surprises. In this talk, I will introduce some recent advances obtained via the LDA+DMFT method in the understanding of their electronic, transport and magnetic properties. In particular, I will discuss the effects of the spin-orbit interaction and its interplay with crystal-field splitting in the presence of Coulomb interactions. I focus on Fermi surface, metal-insulator transition, optical conductivity as well as magnetic excitations in Sr2RuO4, Ca2RuO4 and Sr2RhO4.

报告人简介:

    Dr. Guoren Zhang is an associate researcher (副研究员) at the Key Laboratory of Materials Physics, Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his B.S. in Physics from Henan normal university in 2004 and Ph.D. from ISSP, CAS in 2009. He has been studying the properties of strongly correlated materials and developing corresponding numerical methods.
