Heavy Flavor Production at RHIC

I will review recent experimental achievements on heavy flavor production at RHIC. With new detector upgrades, RHIC will enter into the era of precision measurements on heavy flavor production in order to quantify the detail properties of the hot QCD medium. In the end, I would like to open the discussion of using heavy flavor probes to study gluon structure in nucleon and nucleus.
